A Boston Exhibition Preview to benefit the Fine Arts Work Center, honoring its Fellows and the artists of Provincetown.
A group exhibition of twentieth and twenty-first century artwork by more than forty artists, focusing thematically on the artists’ view of Provincetown, Massachusetts. The scope of this exhibition covers the artistic history and legacy of the oldest "art colony" in the U.S. Presented in a salon style format, the exhibition allows the juxtaposition of the traditional point of view with that of modern masters. It showcases classic white-line woodblock "Provincetown" prints, contemporary constructions, and the expressionist’s vision in mid-century paintings. The exhibition also features contemporary "views" by Fine Arts Work Center Fellows, in recognition of the role that the Work Center plays in assuring the long- term vitality of Provincetown’s contemporary art scene.
